The
Agriculture Non state Actors (ANSAF) in collaboration with Trust Africa held an
advocacy convening in Dodoma on February 20 and 21, 2017. The convening was
attended by civil societies, pastoralists, researchers, farmer unions and other
stakeholders. During the convening the following recommendations were made:

Greater recognition of the substantial contribution of livestock
to the national economy translated in to increased government and private
sector support and funding for the sector.
·
Increased participation by non state actors in the identification
and formulation of small scale keeper and pastoralists friendly livestock
policies
·
Participation of women and youths in livestock value chains
·
Ensuring responsible investments by private sector providing
inclusive development opportunities to small scale livestock keepers and
pastoralists
