Highlights from the Presidential Committee on ACACIA Mining’s Saga

Today on the 12^th June 2017, the president received the report on the ongoing Saga of ACACIA Mining limited regarding to allegations on the illegal exportation of Gold and other minerals. Here are some highlights on the report:

·         ACACIA mining is not registered in the United Republic of Tanzania and therefore it is not licensed to operate in the Country

·         The committee has realized that ACACIA is operating illegally in the country

·         There has been cheating regarding to the amount of gold exported from the country

·         For the period between 1998-2017 the committee has realized that the ACACIA has not reported sales revenue which could be valued in the region of TSH108-180 trillions

·         The government have been denied about TSH 55 trillion worth of corporate tax from ACACIA for the period covered between 1998-2017
